The extinction of the traditional tablet
A tablet needed a keyboard case to pretend. A pocket laptop starts as the thing you were pretending to own.
The tablet was a compromise sold as leisure. The moment the canvas cleared ten inches and the hinge learned to stop, the compromise lost its alibi. You do not carry a phone, a laptop, and a slate through a terminal unless someone else is paying for the shoulder.
What dies is not the large screen. What dies is the orphan device that could not be the phone and could not be the desk. The pocket laptop takes both jobs and leaves the folio case in 2019.
